Yarvinism Betrays American Conservatism

Curtis Yarvin’s vision of a centralized, authoritarian government is fundamentally at odds with the core principles of American conservatism.

  1. It Rejects Limited Government:
Yarvin advocates for a strong, unchecked ruler who can act without constraints. This directly contradicts the conservative belief in limited government and the separation of powers, which are foundational to the U.S. Constitution. Our Founding Fathers designed a system of checks and balances precisely to prevent the concentration of power in one person or institution.
  2. It Undermines Individual Liberty:
Yarvin’s ideas prioritize order over freedom, suggesting that individual rights should be subordinate to the whims of an authoritarian leader. Conservatives have always championed individual liberty as a cornerstone of American life. Yarvin’s vision would erode the freedoms we hold dear.
  3. It Disregards Tradition and the Rule of Law:
Yarvin dismisses the rule of law as a hindrance to effective governance. Conservatives, however, understand that the rule of law is essential for maintaining order, protecting rights, and preserving the traditions that have made America great. Without it, we risk descending into chaos or tyranny.
  4. It’s Un-American:
Yarvin’s call for a return to monarchy or authoritarian rule is fundamentally un-American. Our nation was founded on the rejection of monarchy and the embrace of self-governance. Conservatives celebrate this legacy, while Yarvin’s ideas would undo it.
  5. It’s Dangerous and Untested:
Yarvin’s theories are speculative and untested, offering no guarantee of stability or prosperity. Conservatives value practical, proven solutions over radical experiments. History shows that authoritarian regimes often lead to oppression, corruption, and failure, not the order and prosperity Yarvin promises.

Yarvinism is not conservatism—it’s a rejection of everything conservatives stand for. It undermines limited government, individual liberty, the rule of law, and the American tradition of self-governance. True conservatives should reject Yarvin’s authoritarian vision and reaffirm their commitment to the principles that have made America the greatest nation on Earth.
